Sand under a microscope. HIDDEN beauty revealed thru polarised light!#microscope

Join me as I go on a microscopic sand safari journey. These sand samples were taken from Waikuku beach in North Canterbury, New Zealand, not far from where I live. Sand is fascinating - and beautiful - subject under the microscope, especially in polarised light. I was enthralled by what I saw under the microscope using just two simple polarising filters. Here is a favourite quote of mine: "In every curving beach, in every grain of sand, there is a story of the Earth." These can be purchased cheaply as polarising sheets. A camera polarising filter can also be used as the polariser.
