A seasonal feedlot I run.

This is a seasonal feedlot I run for the family farm Matila Estates in Mkushi. Usually it starts May or June once they have harvested some commercial maize 🌽 In previous years we only used farm grown maize but this year we have started with bought in maize bran because the price is cheap. Always a mixed bag for us since the herd is so mixed but good to see the different breeds 😎 I weighed this herd today and they are gaining on average 1.4kg a day, I'm not breaking any records but at this rate of gain I think it is worthwhile. strange to think one animal has gained only 40kg in the 44 days of feeding so far when a couple are near the 90 kg mark 🤔 #zambianfarm  #zambianbeefcattle  #zambianbanana 🇿🇲🐂🍌🇿🇲🍌🇿🇲🐂🍌🇿🇲🐂🍌🇿🇲🐂🍌🇿🇲👨🏻‍🌾.
