Mixology, últimas novedades en coctelería

Is there such a thing as the perfect cocktail? What elements come into play to enjoy it to the fullest? Too many or too few? These and many other questions were answered at Mixology, the most important cocktail industry trade show, which brought together more than 7,000 professionals in Madrid. The most versatile rums, the most succulent premium malt whiskeys, the most exquisite gins, and the most refined liqueurs all came together at this second edition of Mixology, the most important event in the sector in Spain. Attendees were able to sample the most renowned spirits and be surprised by dreamy combinations. Among the activities organized, Marco Calaza, manager of Fine Dining at Varma, and Mario Villalón, bartender at Angelita Restaurant, gave a gastro-cocktail demonstration where they combine culinary techniques using smoke, aeration, and foam to give cocktails a highly visual touch. This spectacular trend is also known as liquid gastronomy. And it's no wonder, because the aromas seem to evaporate on the palate. Likewise, the VARMA group's brand ambassadors analyzed the latest trends in cocktail serving. The balloon glass, the old-fashioned glass, the shot glass, the chalice glass, even the much-maligned highball glass, which is making a strong comeback as a wider Collins glass... there's a glass for every type of cocktail.
