A Dales High Way: A 90 mile walk from Saltaire to Appleby
See also the blog that goes with this video http://adaleshighwayjuly2012.blogspot... The Dales High Way is a 90 mile walk across the glorious high country of the Yorkshire Dales, including Ingleborough and the Howgill Fells. Following the route by Tony & Chris Grogan in their book A Dales High Way (http://www.skyware.co.uk/highway.htm) this video records the walk over 7 days following ancient trade routes and green lanes from Saltaire to Appleby-in-Westmorland in July 2012. A Dales High Way is more than just a walk. It is a journey through place and time. Since ancient times people have climbed up to high places, have built their homes there, thier settlements, their religious monuments. This video captures some of the elements of the walk, but it is better do some or all of the walk yourself. Good luck.
