Nurnberg, Germany. 12x KONE Escalator ride at Hauptbahnhof - from Stadtbahn, Railway and shop levels

This station is extremely busy. I filmed this back in September 2023. We ride 12 KONE escalators (all made in 2001/2 at the Hattingen, Germany 🇩🇪 factory and the type RTV-HD-*** of different variants). The first 4 are very long and go directly to the Stadtbahn levels, the next 4 are shorter, going to the upper and lower shopping/ restaurant levels with the final 4x (2 longer and 2 shorter) going to a lower underpass level which you could use to walk under the road and also access more escalators to the Stadtbahn (which were OTIS 513 NPE) - in this City’s Stadtbahn, the majority were OTIS escalators or generic brands. At the end you’ll see some commercial grade Kone RTV-TL escalators, there were originally 6x. I have filmed 4 on one side (to come soon) but sadly, despite running perfectly the set of 2 on the other end of the station were under full replacement with Heavy Duty Schindler 9700s. The German railway’s funding system is very wasteful - if money the government grants isn’t spent, it is lost, so they waste it on anything like escalator replacements just to keep getting more funding… Enjoy!
