Jaguar XJ X351 | Preventing Expensive Subframe Corrosion

In this video, we’re working on a Jaguar XJ X351 with a focus on preserving the underside and protecting it against future corrosion. This Jaguar had previously received MOT advisories for corrosion on the rear subframe, and during our inspection we found clear evidence that this area needed attention. Fortunately, the corrosion was identified early, allowing us to clean, treat and protect the affected areas before more serious deterioration occurred. The rust protection work included: • Full underside deep clean and preparation • Wire brushing loose corrosion from the rear subframe • Application of Lanoguard Moto Grease to the entire rear subframe for long-term protection • Application of Lanoguard Moto Spray across the full underside • Wheels removed to allow access to hidden areas of the suspension, subframe and wheel arches • Additional protection applied to areas that cannot be reached with the wheels fitted The Jaguar XJ X351 is renowned for its aluminium body construction, but like many modern classics, it still relies on steel suspension components and subframes that can corrode over time. Regular inspection and preventative protection can help preserve these cars for many more years. This beautiful Jaguar is now protected, ready to be enjoyed, and prepared for many more adventures.
