I think I found a cheat code in The Great Odyssey event ! In Syllas' Ambush you're forced to run specific heroes class — but most AoE heroes are useless here since you're fighting massive single-target bosses, not waves of small troops. Turns out Thomas Edison, technically an AoE hero, deals absolutely insane single-target damage — enough to outperform my level 121 Sir Lancelot (my strongest hero by far) while sitting at only level 80 with zero pantheon investment.
