In this video, I want to talk about choosing a knife, especially if it's an Opinel. The engraving was done on a marker from https://lasercut.ru/ Basically, I'll discuss which knife size to choose, stainless steel or carbon steel, comparing different sizes, fillet knives, modern plastic versions, etc. In short: I wouldn't buy a high-carbon steel knife (VRN version), unless it's for bushcraft fun or, say, skinning small game. I wouldn't buy a fillet knife at all, unless it's for small-scale food preparation. As a backup knife, I'd choose a #6 stainless steel knife. As a primary food preparation knife, a #10 VRI knife. For everyday carry without a specific purpose, a #8 VRI knife. I wouldn't buy plastic knives at all; they're neither fun nor interesting. For more details, watch the video!
