Suzanne Vale's Surprise On-Set Singing Triumph | Postcards From The Edge (Meryl Streep)

Fresh out of rehab, Suzanne Vale (Meryl Streep) has an endearingly awkward encounter with her doctor, Dr. Frankenthal (Richard Dreyfuss), who fumbles his way through asking her out on a date. Immediately following this strange personal moment, Suzanne returns to the set of her film. All the frustration, humiliation, and nervous energy of her recovery is channeled into a surprisingly fantastic and spirited country-western musical number, "I'm Checkin' Out." For the first time, she impresses her skeptical director (Gene Hackman) and proves, to everyone, that she's still got the talent. 🎞️Watch Postcards From The Edge Now:    • Postcards From The Edge   Some of the links above are affiliate links; we may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. 🎬Based on Carrie Fisher's semi-autobiographical novel, this sharp, comedic drama follows a recovering drug-addicted actress as she tries to rebuild her career and her sanity while living under the critical eye of her famous, overbearing mother. 📩 The Second Act Awaits.
