Deaf Talks Demands Sign Language in TN Assembly | #DeafTalksNews

Hello and Welcome to Deaf Talks News ! Today we have very special news from Deaf Talks. Our Deaf Talks team visited the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly yesterday. The assembly head is the speaker. Therefore Deaf Talks team met the Hon'ble Speaker JCD Prabhakar. We submitted two important demands on behalf of the entire Deaf community in Tamil Nadu. Our first demand for appointment of qualified sign language interpreters inside the Tamil Nadu Secretariat. When Deaf people visit government offices there should be a trained interpreter to help them communicate. Our second demand Live sign language interpretation during Tamil Nadu Assembly sessions. Because many things are happening in assembly we Deaf people can't get full access. Also if Deaf Talks didn't post people would say that we support DMK therefore not posting TVK News. The truth is we choose based on the importance. Today crores of Tamil people can watch Assembly sessions on television and understand everything. During the meeting the most heartwarming moment Speaker JCD Prabhakar warmly welcomed our team with great respect. Then he did something truly beautiful. He signed I Love You directly to the Deaf community. Speaker JCD Prabhakar expressed genuine appreciation for our proposal. If this gets approved Vijay CM will inaugurate this project.
