Art for Heart's sake? The USA could learn from Denmark that the arts nurtures a society and culture.

Arts and culture are important to a society’s well-being. Denmark and the United States take a different tact. Denmark has a good deal of state funding for its arts and media. It does not need so much private funding nor does it require private companies with an agenda to sign off on projects. The United States has recently cut funding to its public broadcasting system so not only is there not funding for the arts, but the arts need to rely on companies for profit that may not nurture arts and entertainment that does not have a ready market. Art is not about a market. It is about creating something that will grow and be appreciated. I wish the United States could take a page out of Denmark’s approach to art culture media.
