Conga Master Joe Frost - The Sweetest Feel on Rumba Quinto
Joe Frost was known for his sweet song on the quinto, the high-pitched solo drum in Afro-Cuban Rumba music. "Joe Jams" were renown throughout the Chicago and Phoenix areas for smokin' hot conga sessions. This is a nice stripped-down Rumba Guaguanco that really showcases Joe's sweet feel for the quinto. For Joe, it was all about the rhythm. We never played for dancers and rarely had singers. It was always all about the song of the quinto. Masterful hands and beautiful spirit.
