Preinstallation Verification Test on a Hex Bolt Assembly
The Preinstallation Verification Test is required by RCSC/AISC specifications. This test must be conducted on site by the installation crew to ensure that all bolt assemblies, lubrication, and installation tools can achieve minimum bolt tension prior to installation. This test is intended to identify possible issues between fasteners and tools before field installation begins. In this video, we’ll be testing a three quarter by two and a quarter inch A435 bolt, A563 DH nut, and F436 type 3 3/4” washer. We will cover the testing procedures, reasons for failure and more. --- About Birmingham Fastener: Founded in 1980, Birmingham Fastener is a leading domestic manufacturer and distributor of fasteners for structural steel fabrication, metal building manufacturers, water works, OEM, and MRO.
