What is the BEST beach in Kuta Lombok?!

Today was the day the swell finally started to pick up in Kuta, Lombok. The surf was pumping at one of the beaches, with solid 6ft sets rolling through! I only had my longboard with me, but I still managed to have some fun out there. What really surprised me was that Tanjung Aan was still super small. I thought the swell would hit there too. Is it just really protected from certain swell directions? Let me know if you know the reason because I was genuinely surprised! I spent the rest of the day doing a bit of work and then went spearfishing. Unfortunately, I got completely skunked. The waves were too big, there was too much water moving around, and the conditions just weren't ideal. I did see some solid unicorn fish, but they weren't my target species for the day. I was after a trevally! The day before, I watched a local catch a nice trevally while the swell was still small and the water was calm and crystal clear. That would have been the perfect day for me to go spearing too… but oh well, maybe next time. I'll be back for that trevally! I hope you enjoy today's episode, Part 3 of my Lombok series. There were a few unfortunate moments at the beach, especially regarding the trash situation. I'm sure it's something that can improve over time if we all do our part and help take care of the environment. If I said something wrong or portrayed the location in a negative way, that was never my intention, and I apologize if that's how my content came across. I was simply documenting my experience on that particular day. Maybe on other days it's beautiful and clean, and perhaps the swell had pushed extra rubbish onto the shore. Nonetheless, this area is absolutely stunning. It's right next to the viewpoint, and along the cliffs there are around 4–6 secret beaches that I still haven't explored yet. My Instagram: @kevinmacleod Hari ini akhirnya ombak mulai naik di Kuta, Lombok. Salah satu spot benar-benar hidup dengan set sekitar 6 kaki! Saya cuma bawa longboard, tapi tetap seru dan masih bisa menikmati beberapa ombak. Yang membuat saya kaget, Tanjung Aan masih sangat kecil. Saya kira ombak juga akan masuk ke sana. Apakah pantainya memang lebih terlindung dari arah swell tertentu? Kalau tahu alasannya, kasih tahu saya ya! Setelah surfing, saya lanjut kerja sebentar lalu pergi spearfishing. Sayangnya, saya pulang tanpa hasil. Ombaknya terlalu besar dan arusnya terlalu kuat. Saya sempat melihat beberapa unicorn fish yang bagus, tapi target saya hari itu adalah trevally. Sehari sebelumnya saya melihat seorang lokal berhasil menangkap satu saat laut masih tenang dan jernih. Mungkin lain kali, saya pasti akan kembali untuk mencari trevally itu!
