Hi everyone, I’m Xiaolin. Today we are in Menglian County on the China-Myanmar border. The border crossing here is just across a river from the capital of Wa State in northern Myanmar. There is a border market here that is held every five days. On market days, a large number of Burmese people come from the border crossing to the market. More than half of the people in the market are Burmese, but most of them can speak Chinese. The whole market is full of joy and bustle, and it does not seem to be the dangerous border as rumored. The stall owners are very hospitable and make a living with their hard-working hands.
