Ouderkerk aan den IJssel 1994 asylum boat; the inhabitants of the then still independent village of Ouderkerk aan den IJssel were certainly not taken seriously by the then Municipal Executive of the aforementioned municipality. A "consultation evening" had been organized by the municipality, but the decision had already been made before that; in short, this "consultation evening" was for show, since the municipality was legally obliged to permit and maintain it. The asylum boat Oslo arrived and disappeared again.
