Father Daughter Dance to Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle

My dad was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Nov 7th 2013...Shortly before Christmas he was told he was in remission!!! Then in March of 2014 we were told he had relapsed...he did treatments once again and in April we found out that the chemo had stopped working. The cancer had progressed so rapidly that he was no longer eligible for a bone marrow transplant. It was at this point my now husband and I decided to push our wedding up from April 2015 to June 2014, 2 months of planning instead of a year. We went from having a big wedding and reception, to a small ceremony of immediate family only minus the bridal party who were our closest friends. This is the father daughter dance from that day. It was the very last thing we did, because I knew I would be a wreck after the dance. When I stood up, there wasn't a dry eye in the entire pavilion. Everyone was crying. 1 week and 4 days later, my father passed away. We know he passed peacefully and happy...his goals in life were complete. He was able to walk his baby girl down the aisle, dance with her and hug all 6 of his kid's necks and told them he loved them.
