Autism boy Adam meets Abg Azil @AdamsAutismFamily

Today we beraya with actress/entrepreneur/autism mom Zarina Zainuddin. We have been friends for a long time, always supporting each other from a far, connected thru social media and texting each other every now and then. As parents to autism children we connect on a different level. So it was good to see her and family. Just like Adam, Azil too can snap into a meltdown anytime of the day. So it can be pretty risky to have both of them meet each other. Because of their extreme sensory issues, they can very well trigger each other into a meltdown. But we were ready for the worse, and so was Zarina. In the spirit of Eid, we just trusted in Allah to ease everything. Something truly magical happened. When Azil came downstairs, he was unstable. I was afraid that Adam would be effected emotionally and become unstable too. To our surprise, Adam was exceptionally cool and composed about everything. We somehow felt that he was a bit affected, maybe confused. So mommy quickly took out her dōTERRA Lavender and diluted Vetiver to oils Adam. She also drop the oil on Barney. We wanted Adam to keep cool. Alhamdulillah. Not only was he calm about the little commotion but he actually made efforts to show his affection towards Azil. Adam tried to tell Azil not to hit himself on the face. MashaAllah. We were touched somewhat but more feeling proud of Adam. This is evidence that people with Autism have feelings too, just like all of us. Please be kind and compassionate the next time you encounter with Autistic people.
