Hydrostatic Test for Boilers - SteamWorks
Boilers have to withstand extreme pressures. The vessels and its welds will be put to the test when the steam pressure begins to rise. When boilers and pressure vessels have repairs or alterations, like retubing, tube sheet replacements, morrison tube repairs or any other ASME code repairs then the boiler will require hydrostatic pressure test. The boiler is flooded and the allowed to sit overnight so the city water temperature can acclimate to the air temperature. The hydro will be held for a set amount of time, usually 30 minutes but up to an hour may be required. National Board of Pressure Vessels Code Section one requires that all new boilers undergo a hydrostatic pressure test. Find out more at https://www.powermechanical.com/conta...
