Yaté is the largest municipality in the country, but it is struggling to recover from successive crises: Covid-19, land disputes, and the 2024 riots that led to the blockade of the Saint-Louis road. Yet Yaté has many assets; it simply needs the resources to develop them. Located in the Drubea-kapumë region, nestled in the Great South, Yaté has a population of 1,588.
