Panel 2 – Implementing and Adapting: Peacekeeping Operations in the Face of Reforms on the Ground Whether it involves improving operational performance, combating disinformation and misinformation, integrating the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda, or leveraging new technologies, major changes are fundamentally transforming how peacekeeping operations function on the ground. However, their implementation is taking place in particularly challenging security and political environments, marked by increasingly complex deployment contexts, reduced resources and cash flow, a proliferation of contingency plans, and sometimes complex relationships with host states. Peacekeeping must now find a new balance. This panel aims to examine the main measures stemming from recent reforms and their implementation within peacekeeping operations. Discussions will focus on organizational and operational adaptations observed in the field, the concrete effects of these reforms on performance and protection, and the political and institutional obstacles that may hinder their effective implementation.
