The General Treasury of the Republic (TGR) is appealing a ruling that declared a debt of $30,232,487,243 owed by Comercializadora Cugat SpA to be time-barred. The Treasury failed to collect the debt for three years, leading to its expiration, according to the Second Civil Court of Rancagua. The TGR argues that the legal action was pointless, as the debt was no longer outstanding and there were no pending actions. The debt of Cugat Supermarkets totaled $30.2 billion for obligations incurred between 2010 and 2017.
