DOCUMENTARY FILM “UZBEKISTAN, A JEWEL ON THE SILK ROAD” Members of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian expedition ''Explorer'' Ahmed Bosnić, Enver Imamović, Adi Krdžalić and Sami Abadan visited Uzbekistan, a Central Asian country through which the caravan route of the "Silk Road" once ran. The "Explorer" team had previously encountered the "Silk Road" in Nepal, Kashmir, China, and Afghanistan, and the visit to Uzbekistan completed this section. Our people know very little about Uzbekistan, because the country was simply absorbed into the Soviet Union and many knew it only superficially. The 'Explorer' expedition certainly prepared especially for this trip, because it is a nostalgic journey to the areas dominated by various peoples and through which many conquerors passed. Let us just remember "Alexander the Great" and "Genghis Khan". For many, Bukhara and Samarkand are the most beautiful cities in the world, while the whole of Uzbekistan is one big open-air museum. During the past millennia, it was the crossroads of numerous civilizations, especially Islam, and those who ruled Uzbekistan at that time gave this country a special look. There seems to be no country today with such distinct and beautiful Islamic architecture and science, but that is certainly not all that this country has to offer. In recent years, Uzbekistan has opened its doors to tourism, changed many laws to make foreigners feel comfortable and welcome in Uzbekistan.
