For further information, turn on subtitles! Ride along in the driver's cab of the ICE-T on the Hanover–Hamburg line between Uelzen and Lüneburg. Hardly any other railway line is currently as frequently featured in the media as the one from Hanover via Celle, Uelzen and Lüneburg to Hamburg. I would like to take you with me on the ICE-T on the Uelzen–Lüneburg section and show you how everyday operations are handled on this congested route. The route was also congested on the day the video was recorded, so the journey was rather slow and we even had to stop in between. With signalling technology from the 1960s and infrastructure that is far too small for today's demands, even minor operational deviations can lead to congestion and delays, as you will see in the video.
