THE SACRED SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SEAL OPENING CEREMONY The custom of the Seal Opening Ceremony dates back to the Tran Dynasty's Ancestral Temple, the ancient Thien Truong Palace. After the Lunar New Year, the court held the seal opening ceremony, beginning the affairs of the nation for a new year. When the seal is opened, the machinery of the imperial court officially resumes operation – a commitment to the nation that the new year must begin with seriousness, integrity, and responsibility. Therefore, from a court ritual, the Seal Opening ceremony gradually became a spiritual gathering point for Vietnamese people every spring. But if viewed only as a ritual to pray for blessings at the beginning of the year, it may not be enough. The sacred seal with the inscription "Accumulate Boundless Blessings" does not only mean endless blessings. It is a philosophy of life. Blessings do not come naturally.
