Mo blade shield and counter timings are very important and you can do some fun stuff with them. Example: If you have the shield disc attunement, you can shield right before you get executed. This makes it so the 2nd hit of their execute, which usually does higher damage, only damage the shield. The first hit will trigger the shield to activate early.
