The twin belfries of Luqa contain a set of 5 bells all cast by Prospero Barigozzi of Milano in 1928. The largest bell weighs 3.5 tons and is one of three bells sounding the same note and also cast by Barigozzi. The other bells are found at Mellieha and the Basilica of St. George Victoria Gozo - both cast earlier in 1925. The set of bells is considered to be cast on a light profile meaning that the bells are relatively light in weight in comparison to their musical note.
