For the Jew he is their father, for the Arab the friend of God, for the Christian, father of the faithful. The life of Abraham was a life of tremendous significance and humongous impact. A life spoken about by Jesus and the apostles, a life that exemplified fundamental Christian doctrines. Men before Abraham like Abel, Enoch, Noah were good and godly men, who received blessings from God. But through Abraham many were blessed and became a blessing for many! The specific, sovereign, personal call of The grace of God on Abraham was responded with consistent, continuous and complete obedience and trust in The One who called. Dear children of God, we pray that as you listen to the Word, and as the progeny of Abraham let us once again assure ourselves of our call and renew our confidence in the One who has called us!
