London Quarter Peal day (20/05/2018)
Part of 2 successful quarter peals; Plain Bob Major at Wimbledon and Stedman Triples at West Hill, Wandsworth, featuring some of the Lilliputters Guild. Wimbledon has a lovely ring of 8 modern Whitechapel bells though are made challenging due to the, long, stretchy and thicker ropes. However, once the Plain Bob settled it turned out to be really good quarter. West Hill, Wandsworth has 8 1926 Taylor bells which sound glorious, they just needed to be louder inside, especially when cars go screaming by and sound the horn in rage - to which a remark was 'should we ring Grandsire?'. A relatively musical and enjoyable quarter of Stedman Triples was rung.
