From the start, it was clear this wouldn't be a serious chat. Well, somewhat serious, yes, but with so much laughter that even the most serious audience would have ended up with abs from laughing so much. Recording in Caracas, the excitement was palpable. Clara and Ale, in their most uninhibited selves, shared anecdotes and jokes while Briceño, with his sharp wit, reminded us that in addition to being a comedian, he's a professor and playwright, and that he's taught all kinds of students, from university students to beauty queens. Because yes, the man went from teaching semiotics at the university to giving public speaking classes to aspiring beauty queens. Conclusion? Frivolity is a serious art, and if someone teaches you how to hold a crown without dropping it, they deserve your respect. "You look prettier when you're quiet"? Please! The conversation quickly turned to beauty stereotypes and those phrases we all hate (but still repeat). "You look prettier when you're quiet" was demolished with such biting humor that it surely left that phrase trembling in a corner. Clara commented on how in Venezuela, even before giving birth, one of her friends asked who was going to do her hair. Excuse me?! While she was thinking about how to get a baby out of her body, her friends were worried about whether their curls would look perfect for the photos. Briceño, always ready with the punchline, quipped: "That's what firefighters are for, not to put out fires, but to deal with those absurd expectations." Amid the laughter, Briceño offered a serious (and comical) reflection: in ancient Greece, beauty, goodness, and truth were one and the same. "But of course," he added, "that was before Instagram filters and Miss Universe." Ale, meanwhile, lamented not having been born in the Renaissance, where women with "Botticelli bodies" were the epitome of beauty. "If I had been born in that era, there would have been no stopping me! But here I am, in 2024, battling impossible standards and wanting to eat a little something." And what about men? They have their share too. The discussion took a slightly more serious turn (but not too much) when talking about the stereotypes men face. Briceño, with his characteristic resigned humor, confessed that "men don't cry... at least not in public. We cry in the shower, with the water running down our faces, so no one notices." Clara and Ale burst out laughing, but they also emphasized that these social pressures are just as absurd as those women face. Provider, strong, no emotion? “Look,” Clara said, “if you want to cry, cry your eyes out, but do it with style, okay?” The episode ended with a touch of humility (and a little bit of egocentrism, because it's Briceño!). Clara and Ale praised him for his work in Venezuelan comedy, but he quipped, “As long as they keep hiring me and not these newbies, everything's fine.” Amid applause and laughter, the trio closed the episode making it clear that comedy is the best tool for dismantling stereotypes, criticizing the absurd, and, above all, making us laugh until we're exhausted. This episode was a reminder that yes, life might be a tango for some and a salsa for others, but if you live it with humor, everything is easier to bear. And if not, at least have a laugh while you straighten your hair before heading to the supermarket! 💡 Original Idea by: Alejandra Otero and Clara Ulrich Editing and Assembly: @israelvillac Production: @carlosjelambiv @Shows_ClaraUlrich @GracieMalanga Animation: @depictionofnina Music: @frienelcontrol Recording Studios: @BrainBox.work @LaComediaLocal
