Replacing ribbons in a missal repair - St Andrews Daily Missal

Sometimes, a client’s ‘simple request’ can be fraught with hidden complexities. “It only needs the ribbons replacing, really” is what I was told, and yet, performing that task on this book would prove to be more involved than can be anticipated... In this video you'll see the book repair process, including replacing the Missal's ribbons, relining the spine, and upgrading the endpapers to nice marbled papers instead of the dull black. I also redyed the dried leather on the spine so it'll look good for years to come.
