I Built a New Deck for Our 1968 Catamaran.

I picked the worst possible weather to finish rebuilding the deck on our 1968 vintage catamaran — 30-knot winds, torrential rain and absolutely no shelter. This week, I battle through a proper Scottish storm to finally get the new deck fitted, bolted down and finished. After weeks of building, epoxying and painting it, there was only one question left… would it actually fit the boat? With the rain hammering down and my glasses completely steamed up, I get the deck into position and push on until the job is finished. I also turn my attention to the bow and fit a new roller for the anchor chain — another small but important step towards getting this neglected old catamaran ready for bigger adventures. We bought this 1968 Iroquois Mk2 after she'd spent around 24 years neglected. We're rebuilding her, learning as we go, and using her to gain the skills and experience we need for our eventual move onto a much larger ‪@WharramCatamarans‬ and a life of sailing. No huge budget.
