The filmmakers follow the lives of several Ural owls for over a year. They show their interactions with each other, as well as with other species, and their relationships with humans. Viewers learn about the owls during the breeding season and the rehabilitation of injured individuals at a wildlife center. The documentary filmmakers also discuss the breeding and reintroduction plans for Ural owls in Austria, and the impact of deforestation on their numbers. There are also hunting stories, tales of unusual encounters between people and owls in urban spaces, and unusual nocturnal and diurnal behavior of the birds.
