Half Moon Bay: Coastal Trail, E-bike and Downtown (Things to See)

This is an overview of a Day Trip to Half Moon Bay including riding an E-bike along the Coastal Trail, visiting Pillar's Point, attempting to visit Maverick's Beach, and exploring the Half Moon Bay Downtown area. I loved Half Moon Bay and have shared by Day Trip experiences. I hope to be back soon! ‪@seniorsolotravel‬ Senior Solo Travel Facebook Group:   / 443309331791413   Senior and Solo Travelers: The downtown area is only several blocks long and includes casual cafes, delis, sweet shops, retail shops, and galleries. See the Half Moon Bay website below for lodging information. I found free public parking near the library, which was a couple blocks from main street. Main Street is all one level, so easy walking. There are two rental bike shops in town. You do have to navigate several blocks of a business area before you reach the coastal trail, including crossing a six-lane thoroughfare. Once over to the coastal trail, it is easy to navigate. The path is shared with pedestrians, so you need to slow down often to safely pass them. A note about E-bikes: I have rented two in my life. The first time the bike just slightly assisted my pedaling and was easy to handle. This time the bike would take off with the slightest effort--even on the lowest setting, making it difficult to navigate around pedestrians. It was zippier on the trail passages, but I had to turn it off when I approached a crowded area. You might want to inquire if you rent a bike as to it's power.
