If you want to get into truck trials, you buy a Tatra 815 or a Praga V3S. If you want to get into off-road trials, you buy a Suzuki Samurai. But what do you buy a 4x4 for traveling, occasional off-road park adventures, working in the woods, and trips to Lidl for bread? What about a second-generation Pajero? This Japanese diesel may not be as durable as the 1.9 TDI in the first-generation Škoda Octavia, but what else could we expect for that price? Our friend Vašek recently bought a second-generation five-door Mitsubishi Pajero with a 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine and a 4° automatic transmission. It was actually very similar to the car we had in our early days at the editorial office – it was mainly characterised by bulging fenders (instead of the usual extensions on the edges), an additional SuperSelect transmission and a center and rear differential lock.
