He lived there with his wife, and the couple had a daughter. Villa Porr is an outstanding example of Art Nouveau architecture. It is a three-story brick building with a beautiful entrance area with columns and a stunning front door. The façade is decorated with numerous decorative elements, bas-reliefs, and stucco moldings. It features a tower with arched windows and a high pyramidal roof. The villa itself has 13 rooms. The estate retains a beautiful Dutch oven, original sliding doors, interior doors, moldings, staircases with decorative railings, parquet floors, German tiles, and large hooks for hanging meat carcasses in the basement kitchen. The untouched authenticity of the interior is astounding! According to eyewitnesses, in the early 2000s, a large antique German mirror made of dark wood still stood in the hallway, along with a magnificent antique multi-arm chandelier belonging to the villa's first owners. A food elevator was even in operation. During the battle for Fischhausen, as Primorsk is now known, the town suffered greatly. But Villa Porr survived. According to eyewitnesses of those events, train cars laden with fine wines and cognac, evacuated from Königsberg, were parked on the Fischhausen railway tracks. Some of the wine stocks were destroyed in fires, while the Germans hid the rest in the vicinity of Villa Porr. A Soviet pilot shot down over Fischhausen was also found in the basement of the manor house. He was rescued from the gendarmerie by Russian women slaves. They passed off the wounded officer as their sick friend. One of the German soldiers warned the women to be careful, saying that the Russians would be arriving any minute. The villa was undamaged during the war, and in the early 1950s, it was transferred to the Ministry of Defense. From 1952 to 2010, it housed a branch of the Baltic Fleet military hospital—specifically, a tuberculosis clinic. The property was then abandoned for unknown reasons, and its contents were removed. Despite this, the grounds remain under military guard, so the villa's exterior and interior are in fairly good condition. The villa's last inhabitants still left behind spittoons for tuberculosis patients, stained-glass windows from the Soviet era, and boxes filled with used medicine bottles. Rumor has it that Koch's bacillus still lives here. Therefore, the charming Villa Porr is a place of both attraction and repulsion for many!
