What if All-Night Nippon: Super Mario Bros. was just a rare version with new Toads? | Nimaginendo

A rare and legendary version! Introducing another "animation" (in-game, but this time with an original game, just like I did with several sections of Super Mario Bros. - The Bowser Wars), "All-Night Kingdom: Super Mario Bros." (オールナイトキングダム), a version of the Famicom Disk System (Japanese NES Disk System) game without the characters/references from "All Night Nippon". And yes, it's a different version made by me, but only in the new graphics or restoration of old graphics. Otherwise, the game remains exactly the same. It's something simple, but it's also something I (until now) have never seen done before. Initially, I thought about keeping all the Toads the same as the original, just with different colors, but that would be much simpler and more generic... so I had the idea to redesign other different Toads myself. During graphics development - I struggled a bit to find the location of each of the All Night Nippon members (in place of the Toads), including edited enemies, and discovered that there are copies of the "Toads" sprites a little further down in the memory. Apparently, some are for the end screens of level 4 and others are for the ending. This is probably why some of my new Toads appear out of order at the end of the game. Another detail: during this gameplay, it was the first time I played (with the new Toads) completely! I didn't know if the result would be good or bad, but fortunately it was good. In the graphics editor's view, I had to do a lot of palette swapping, invert colors, so there was a high chance of the characters being poorly colored or even poorly fitted (they are 8x8 pieces, sometimes larger, sometimes smaller, separate particles). The good thing is that this didn't cost me many hours, only 3 hours to do this light editing. Useful for keeping the channel active, but quite simple by the standards of what I usually do. I have a huge limitation when it comes to the original hardware, so I won't be able to do much like I do in fan games for PC. Another example is that "new" title screen, is just a PNG inserted in front of the original, since I can't edit the original logo. And that's all for today. The online editor is sort of working again, but now there's another problem to deal with: audio delay. When cutting a video, there's a high risk of the audio becoming misaligned and not keeping up with the original recording. This used to happen to me some years ago, but I noticed it through lag in fan games. Cutting also contributes to the audio becoming misaligned, which is quite annoying. Stay tuned! Super Mario Bros. Trilogized is coming in a few days. I'll also be making some changes to "Super Mario Bros. - Scrolled Edition" to release the "home version". This work was made in july 12, 2026 (started and ended in the same day). This is non-profit work. Fan work for fans. Vini Lemos - Nimaginendo Games 2026
