This video lesson demonstrates a 3D model setup of an electromagnetic brake (EMB) system. This video covers the insulating boundary and the current excitation assignment in Ansys Maxwell 3D. Additionally, this video covers the steps to set up a parametric analysis for the variable “gap” that was previously created. This parametric analysis helps us analyze the effect of varying air gap on force acting on the movable brake plate. You will also learn how to plot relevant electromagnetic field quantities.
