How do we BREATHE || External Respiration || Life Processes - 5 || in Hindi for Class 10
In this Biology video in Hindi for Class 10 we explained what external respiration is. This is a topic from the chapter - 'Life Processes' From NCERT for class 10. External respiration consists of intake of air from environment, procurement of necessary gas from that air, and release of the byproduct gas. Plants exchange gases through stomata. Carbon dioxide and oxygen are exchanged by diffusion. Large inter-cellular spaces ensure that all cells are in contact with air. The direction of diffusion depends upon the environmental conditions and the requirements of the plant. At night, carbon dioxide elimination is the major activity. During the day, oxygen elimination is the major activity. Fishes take in water through their mouths and force it past the gills where the dissolved oxygen is taken up by blood. Since the amount of dissolved oxygen is fairly low compared to the amount of oxygen in the air, the rate of breathing in aquatic organisms is much faster than that in terrestrial organisms. In cockroach, respiration occurs through spiracles – a small opening on the sides of its body. When air through external openings, enters into its respiratory system, spiracles serve as muscular valves paving way to the internal respiratory system. In more complex organisms, like humans, a more complex system of organs have been developed for respiration. In human, air is breathed into lungs. That air passes through nasal cavities, nasal passages, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and it reaches the alveolar sacs, where oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged. Nasal Passages : The nasal passages filter and warm the air, and make it moist before it goes into the lungs. They also contain special cells that are involved in the sense of smell. Pharynx : It carries food to the esophagus and air to the larynx. Larynx : It involves in producing sound and protecting the trachea against food aspiration. Trachea : It is composed of about 20 rings of tough cartilage. Due to which it is a stiff, flexible tube, it provides a reliable pathway for air to enter our body. Bronchi : A bronchi conduct air into the lungs. Like trachea, these are also supported by cartilage. Bronchiole : The bronchioles deliverair to the alveolar sac. Unlike bronchi, the bronchioles no longer contain the cartilage. Alvioli : Alveoli are hollow, cup-shaped cavities in the lungs where oxygen is exchanged for carbon dioxide. When we breathe in, we lift our ribs and flatten our diaphragm. As a result the chest cavity becomes larger. Because of this, air is sucked into the lungs and fills the expanded alveoli. The blood brings carbon dioxide (mostly in dissolved form) from the rest of the body for release into the alveoli. Oxygen in the alveolar air is taken up by respiratory pigments, haemoglobin in R.B.C. to be transported to all the cells in the body. During the breathing cycle, the lungs always contain a residual volume of air so that there is sufficient time for oxygen to be absorbed and for the carbon dioxide to be released. 🔴 Osmosis and Diffusion • Osmosis and Diffusion || The Fundamental U... 🔴 Osmosis in Cell • Osmosis in Cell || The Fundamental Unit of... 👇👇👇👇👇👇 𝑷𝑳𝑨𝒀𝑳𝑰𝑺𝑻 👇👇👇👇👇👇 🔴 Click here to watch the whole playlist on Chapter 6 : 'Life Processes' for Class 10 : • Introduction to Life Processes || Life Pro... 👇👇👇👇👇👇 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝑽𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒐𝒔 👇👇👇👇👇👇 🔴 Introduction to Life Processes • Introduction to Life Processes || Life Pro... 🔴 Autotrophic Nutrition • Autotrophic Nutrition || Life Processes -... 🔴 Heterotrophic Nutrition • Heterotrophic Nutrition (Digestive System)... 🔴 Cellular Respiration • How CELL Breathe || Cellular Respiration |... 0:00 Introduction to respiration 0:53 Respiration in unicellular organism 2:10 Respiration in plants 4:34 Respiration in aquatic animals 6:07 Respiration in simple terestrial organism (Cockroach) 6:50 Respiration in human beings 8:53 Role of Nasal Passages in respiration 9:10 Role of Pharynx in respiration 9:50 Role of Larynx in respiration 10:38 Role of Trachea in respiration 11:03 Role of Bronchi in respiration 11:23 Role of Bronchiole in respiration 11:48 Role of Alvioli in respiration 12:09 How we breath 12:51 Role of haemoglobin in respiration
