Kweengypsy is gay, loves drag, and yet believes in Islam. For her Kurdish family, this combination was unthinkable for a long time: "My mother said: If you're gay, I'll kill myself." In "deep and clear," Kweengypsy talks about how she was outed by others, what that did to her, and how she still leads a self-determined life today as a drag queen and Muslim. An inspiring talk about homosexuality, beliefs, and self-love. Regarding Jakob's drag name: The "G-word" is a racist term for Roma and Sinti. It's not okay for someone who isn't part of this group to use the "G-word." Jakob himself feels a sense of belonging to this community due to his family history.
