Therefore, in many cultures, dragons are frequently portrayed with snake-like bodies or described interchangeably with great serpents. Therefore, sea serpents can also be considered a type of dragon. 4- I included a fifth category called 'Dragon Hybrids'. These are creatures that exist in mythology and combine the traits of a dragon with those of other animals. 5- The depictions, types, powers, etc., of each dragon were based on myths, legends, old epics, and folktales within its respective culture. For example, the sources for Western dragons were primarily European epics and folktales, while those for Eastern dragons drew from East Asian myths, legends, and cultural traditions.
