The bicameral Parliament has completed its historic mission. Over the past thirty years, about 3.5 thousand laws have been adopted. And every tenth law was initiated by deputies. Most importantly, 99 percent of the issues raised at the rostrum have been resolved. There are also quite a few documents that were not adopted and returned. Deputies who vacated their seats at the rostrum and handed over the keys to the cabinet participated in the joint session for the last time today. So, how does the new political system work? Starting from July 1, it will be replaced by a new representative body - the Kurultai. The Head of State thanked the deputies of all convocations, noting that over the years of independence they have adopted about 3.5 thousand laws that laid the foundation for the country's development. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized: Kazakhstan is completing an important historical stage and opening a new page of its statehood. The new political system must strengthen reforms, expand citizen participation in state decision-making, and contribute to the construction of a modern and just state.
