Welcome to the Shieldhill Parade as it marches through Easterhouse, Glasgow, on the morning of the 2026 Glasgow Boyne Celebrations. Heavy rain didn’t stop the parade as bands, colour parties and participants made their way through Easterhouse before heading towards Glasgow city centre for the main Boyne Celebrations. The Shieldhill Parade is one of many local processions that take place across Glasgow before joining together for the main annual parade through the city centre and on to Glasgow Green. Thousands of participants from districts across the city take part each year, making it one of Scotland’s largest annual public processions. The weather meant there were fewer supporters walking behind the parade than normal, but the bands carried on despite the conditions, creating a memorable morning for everyone taking part.
