Ayumu Hirano (TOKIO Inkarami), the gold medalist in men's snowboard halfpipe at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, appeared at the "Ayumu Hirano Special Talk Event supported by UNIQLO" held in Tokyo on the 15th, alongside his older brother Hideki and younger brother Kaiju (TOKIO Inkarami), who also represented Japan at the Beijing Olympics. Graduated from Murakami Daiichi Junior High School, Kaishi International High School, and Nihon University's Faculty of Sports Science. Influenced by his older brother, Hideki (3 years his senior), he started snowboarding and skateboarding at the age of 4. At his Olympic debut in Sochi in 2014, he won a silver medal at the age of 15 years and 74 days, becoming the youngest medalist in the history of Japanese athletes at the Winter Olympics. He also won a silver medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. He took up skateboarding at the Tokyo Olympics, becoming only the fifth person in history to compete in both the Summer and Winter Olympics, and then achieved his long-held dream of winning a gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. At this year's Milan-Cortina Olympics in February, despite suffering serious injuries in January, including fractures to his ilium and nasal bone, he persevered through the pain and finished in 7th place.
