Memphis Went to the Vet Today... (We Need Your Positive Vibes)

We started our morning bright and early at 6:00 AM to get Memphis ready for her big vet appointment. She had to take some trazodone before we left to help keep her calm, which made her super wobbly and goofy, but the amazing news is they didn't even have to put her under twilight sedation for her x-rays and ultrasound! Dr. Ryan was able to get everything he needed and even did a needle biopsy while she was just chilling out. Jamie, Eric, Jennifer, and Greg went out on a mountain bike ride later in the day to help stay distracted, because the waiting is always the hardest part. We didn't get the best news, but we also didn't get the worst news today. The vet did find a tumor on Memphis's liver. While a liver tumor sounds incredibly scary, it actually gives us answers as to why her liver levels have been so crazy for so long. The tumor appears to be in one lobe rather than spread out everywhere, which means surgery at the Flint Surgical Center might be a real option for our 13-year-old girl! We are sending out the biopsy results and should know what type of tumor it is in about a week. Age is not a disease, so we are staying incredibly positive and keeping our hopes high!
