Father's Day special with some diesel and steam, pre 1970 only on the rails

On the O gauge rails is only Lionel pre 1970, and on the S gauge rails only American flyer pre 1970. Featuring Lionel steam engines: 2055, 2018 two have smoke and whistle as well. Diesel engines: F-3 double unit 2343, FM 2321 American Flyer steam: 290, 283, Diesel: 355 From around 1970-1980's I had a 2055 set and a 2037 steamer as well, but was a teen and decided to try N scale for a while, and sold all of the O gauge I had, but I missed a few items I found later.. I bought the 2055 and 2018 and others similar to it over the past few years. However the first 2055 I had made bad error and decided to clean the wheels with a file, I was maybe 9 -12 years old then.. It did not help it run any better in fact in no time the gears were slipping bad. Why: it had magnetic wheels and all of those shavings got into the gears and chewed them up bad. I got another whole motor assembly for it around 1979, but it was still never as fast as the 2037 I bought from that same train repair shop in Lancaster, PA. This 2055 I have here does pretty good. But to me, in this run the 2018 in the middle is the hero. Smokes very well with the original smoke unit, even at slower speed. The Santa Fe F-3 diesel double unit I have had since around 1986, bought at the train meet in Lancaster. The rollers were worn bad and it growled, but it was a pretty good runner, and took a good amount of transformer power, ran it and several other trains off a 250 watt American Flyer transformer I bought at a thrift store back then. Then some time in the late 1980's I had the rollers and the horn repaired. Sorry, no horn in this video. I had just caught a cold a few days before and had to cough a few times, sorry for the interruption. I had planned on doing these videos on Saturday but was to sick to bother, so Monday night 06/15/2026 was the time I did these runs for these videos. I may do a few more post-war train runs before going to another change over theme. RE:MVI 0924
