Armando Savignano is Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Trieste. He specializes in ethical issues and philosophical and poetic Hispanicism. He is one of the leading contemporary interpreters of modern and contemporary Spanish and Ibero-American thought, to which he has contributed numerous essays. He also works in moral philosophy and bioethics, with special reference to epistemological issues, the bioethics of virtue, medical anthropology, and the issues of informed consent and doctor-patient communication. He is currently editing the critical edition of the complete works of María Zambrano and has edited volumes by Miguel de Unamuno, José Ortega y Gasset, José Xavier Zubiri Apalategui, and Julián Marías.
