Racquet Stringing [2022 Update | Lockout Machine Consistent Tensioning & Streamline Technique]

Did you ever wonder how a stringer’s technique can affect the overall string job, especially on a lockout machine? I’ll share how to streamline your technique and maintain more consistent tensioning. When I first learned to string, I positioned the tension head as close to the racquet as possible before pulling each string. However, rotating the racquet on the turntable during the stringing process caused the tension head to move closer and sometimes farther from the frame. Since I couldn’t consistently get the tension head close to the racquet, it got me thinking. What would happen if I didn’t position the tension head close to the frame? And would that affect the overall tension?
