Andrea Papini, born in 1963, began studying music and piano at a young age with various teachers; first in London with John Taylor, playing with excellent musicians from the English and Italian scene. Then he met African-American pianist Barry Harris, whose student and performer he was for twenty years, until his passing a few years ago. He followed Harris throughout Europe and to New York, where he lived. He has collaborated with many artists over the years, including Steve Lacy, Bob Mover, Tony Scott, Pasquale and Luigi Grasso, and others.
