Sun Outdoors Association Island "Great views, great memories, $$$ campsites, and bugs...worth it?

Hello Adventures! This Memorial Day weekend, we packed up the Pasadena, loaded up Herbie and Bugsy, and headed north to Sun Outdoors Association Island in Henderson, New York, on the shores of beautiful Lake Ontario. The views? Absolutely stunning. From waterfront campsites and beautiful sunsets to historic lighthouses and local attractions, this campground offers some of the best scenery we've seen in the Northeast. But no campground is perfect. While we had an amazing weekend and enjoyed everything the area has to offer, Association Island comes with a premium price tag. And if you visit during certain times of the year, you'll likely meet the campground's most famous residents—the midges. These tiny bugs were everywhere and definitely became part of the Memorial Day experience. So was it worth it? Join us as we explore the campground, the island, nearby attractions, and give you our honest take on whether Sun Outdoors Association Island deserves a spot on your RV travel list.
